Gotcha Day (7-1-2013)!!!!!

We went to the registration office with the 8 other families in our group at 9:30 this morning. When we got there it was pretty much mass chaos! About half the babies were there already....including Mishiah!!! As well as other groups besides us....and paperwork was changed today making the officials flustered.

Receiving Mishiah was pretty much exactly opposite of our experience when we received Azriah. Azriah was the last child to be brought and we actually got her at the hotel. Mishiah was the first one we saw when we walked in the doors of the registration office. Azriah was in foster care and grieved pretty hard, crying for hours....Mishiah was in an orphanage and hasn't really cried much at all, besides normal 1 year old fits. Mishiah also came in a diaper and very nice clothes (no splitpants like Azriah) and with a photo album and we also got to briefly meet her caregivers from the orphanage.

So the girls pretty much spent the entire afternoon playing and trying to bond with Mishiah. One of the funniest moments of the day was when Mishiah was getting put in a bath and whimpering a little bit and Azriah said, "What...you don't want to be part of our family?" (oh the mind of a cheesy 4 year old).

Tomorrow holds a busy day for us as we have paperwork in the morning back at the registration office where we officially adopt Mishiah!! Then we go to the notary office before lunch. After lunch our family is headed to Anyang, Mishiah's birth city, to apply for her Chinese passport (which is a requirement Henan province just recently implemented), so we will get the privilege of spending five hours in a van tomorrow after a full morning. Keep us in your prayers!
